Why do Jackboy and Kodak Black have beef?

Although Jackboy was previously signed to Kodak's Sniper Gang label, their relationship seemingly turned sour around June of 2021. Their beef surfaced on social media after Kodak fired shots at Jackboy on Twitter.

“Made a ‘M’ off Lil Jack,” Kodak tweeted.

“Took long enough but [that business] must be stood on,” the “Super Gremlin” rapper said. Kodak later claimed that Jackboy owed him money, but he did not specify the reason why.

"I still ain’t get my money from this ungrateful lil b---h yet," Kodak wrote on Instagram (via Hip Hop DX). He went on to threaten to file a lawsuit against his former protegé but that never happened.

For his part, Jackboy refused to address the beef. He said on Instagram: "I’m not gonna go in detail or explain s--t to nobody

However, Jackboy reneged on that statement when he took a jab at Kodak in a song, reigniting their feud.

“You ain’t Z, you bought your way in / Boy you ain’t no killer, you be cryin’ when you get caged in,” Jackboy rapped on his 2022 song, “Renegade (Closure).”

In response to the diss, Kodak took to Instagram to slam Jackboy, suggesting that the rapper was simply upset for being kicked out of their entourage.

Despite their past drama, it doesn't look like Kodak has anything to do with the 2023 shooting in South Florida that involved Jackboy and his brother.

Jackboy’s brother was shot multiple times — here’s a health update.

The victim in the Dec. 13 shooting that made headlines was identified as Jackboy’s younger brother. In a statement posted to Facebook, the Port St. Lucie Police Department confirmed details of the incident and shared an update on the victim’s condition.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that a young adult male was in his driveway when the suspect approached him and shot him several times,” the post read. “The suspect fled in an unknown make/model vehicle. The victim was airlifted to Lawnwood Hospital in serious condition.”

The police department went on to suggest that the shooting was a targeted attack, as they have no reason to believe that other community members are in danger. For his part, Jackboy has not shared any information on his brother’s condition.
