While West Coast rapper YG is known for spitting hard lyrics and rousing a city, even under his tough-guy exterior lies the desire to love and be loved, it seems (don’t we all?). Like many rappers and public figures, YG has attracted a lot of attention to his dating life over the years.
During an interview with DJ Sourmilk, YG said that if his exes could write something on his grave, it would be: “‘I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you,’ from every ex.” The “Brand New” rapper also admitted that “the craziest thing I’ve ever done for a chick was stay with a cheater.” Although he didn’t disclose who that “cheater" might have been when he said that, here's a list of the women that have been linked to YG's relationship history in the past.
Catelyn Sparks (2013 - 2019)
YG and model Catelyn Sparks sparked dating rumors back in 2013 and have had quite an on-again, off-again romance.
Catelyn and YG share a daughter named Harmony, born in May 2015, and a son named Vibe, who they welcomed in May 2019. Soon after, they called it quits once and for all.
Keke Palmer (2014)
Another former girlfriend of YG was actress and singer Keke Palmer, but it’s one of YG's most undocumented dating experiences.
Widely known for her acting, singing, and television hosting, Keke is a multifaceted entertainer with a massive media profile who happens to be very private about her dating life.
Their relationship — reported to have taken place in 2014 — was short-lived, and more mysterious. According to one rumor, the pair split because of the rapper’s supposed infidelity.
Kehlani (2019)
His most public relationship was probably with the R&B singer Kehlani. The couple made headlines in 2019 when TMZ announced that YG and Kehlani were dating.
But, once again, the relationship ended just as quickly as it had started.
After rumors of YG’s infidelity surfaced online, Kehlani announced that they had broken up on social media.
In her song “You Know Wassup,” Kehlani sang: “You’re still my love / You’re still my heart, that’s still my date / Still wanna be Mrs. Jackson / Still wanna be a co-captain.”
In 2020, she released a song called “Valentine’s Day (Shameful)” that fans took as a diss towards YG, whose real name is Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson.
Despite the tension between the two after the breakup, The Shade Room reported that YG still leaves friendly emojis under his ex-girlfriend’s photo even years later.
Saweetie (2023 - Present)
YG’s link-up with fellow California native Saweetie has generated quite a frenzy online and in popular culture. Both artists have had high-profile relationships and breakups in the past, which makes their pairing particularly interesting to fans and the media alike.
Their relationship was first rumored when they were spotted together at several events, including Coachella, in 2023. The couple confirmed their relationship with a public display of affection during a vacation in Mexico.
Although news broke that they had split after dating for seven months, they soon sparked rumors of a rekindled romance after they were spotted performing together.
