Meet Joey Gaston, a rising star and high school quarterback at Iona Prep in New York. Gaston, known for his dual-threat abilities, is making a name for himself as arguably the best quarterback in the city.

Gaston boasts an impressive record, having thrown for 482 yards and scoring three touchdowns in the 2023 football season alone. According to MaxPreps' statistics, his outstanding performance has significantly contributed to his team's remarkable second-place ranking in New York.

Still, according to the rising star, reaching the top spot has not been without its challenges. “I’m confident that four years at this level of competition will prepare me for the collegiate stage," the athlete wrote in an open letter to NCSA Sports.

He went on: "I’m fearless, I’m competitive, I lead by example, and I will never let anyone outwork me. I was molded into this type of athlete because I have been overlooked and doubted all my life."

"I'm not as big as the other QBs so I have had to prove people wrong at every level of my sports career," Joey shared. "I have had to work twice as hard for the opportunity to show them that I give the team the best chance to win."

Standing at 5'8" and 165 lbs the teen footballer has set his sights on joining a top-tier NCAA collegiate team. "My goal is to graduate high school with honors and attend a college that will not only help me compete at the highest level but also help me become successful in life after football," he added in the letter to coaches and recruiters.

According to Overtime Heroics, he clocks in at an impressive 4.5 in the 40-yard dash, solidifying his position in the top 20 in the state for both passing yards and total yards. In other words, his dream may not be far off.

Where is Joey Gaston from? Details on the football player's hometown.

Gaston's roots trace back to the Bronx, New York City, where he was raised alongside five siblings; including hip-hop's rising princess, Ice Spice (whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston).

He comes from a diverse background as his family's heritage is a fusion of Black and Dominican.
