When Lil' Wayne called Missy Elliott his favorite rapper of all time, many shared his sentiments. Rappers are powerful influences in the music industry, and many of your favorite rappers have artists who inspire them, too. If you want to know who influences the biggest artists of our generation, here are 10 rappers' favorite rappers:
Drake

Drake is touted as one of the biggest names in rap, but he credits much of his inspiration to his top five rappers. In a comment posted underneath Hush's Instagram, he revealed his favorite rappers of all time.
"My top 5 is Biggie, Hov, Wayne, Young Tony, and 3000 since nobody asked."
Doja Cat

Doja Cat is one of the biggest names in music, but she always makes it a point to highlight others. And in 2021, during an Instagram Live session, she shouted out her favorite rapper of all time: Homeboy Sandman.
"So, Homeboy Sandman is a rapper and he's really fucking dope, he's one of my favorite rappers," she said. "But he does this thing. There's a part at the end of the song where he's just supposed to be talking, but when he talks, he still sounds like he's rapping and it's kinda funny. I don't know why that's funny. It's not that funny but it's kinda funny to me, I don't know. Maybe just to me."

J. Cole

J. Cole is a household name who earned his title as one of the greatest rappers in music history. But in an interview with Angie Martinez of 105.1, he listed his top five: 2Pac, Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z, Eminem, and Andre 3000.
"It probably changes all the time," he said before naming 2Pac, Biggie, and Nas. "I wanna say [André] so bad, but Eminem is like solo dolo," he explained. "Andre's incredible, but he'll tell you himself, he was in a duo, so his workload was a little less, but creatively, he's miles beyond."
JT

Rapper Pusha T is a beast on the mic. But when the "Diet Coke" rapper was asked where he draws his inspiration, he revealed that Jay-Z holds the top spot.
"Hov is first because he made Reasonable Doubt, and that is the grail of all drug levels, without being all about drugs. It spoke more to the lifestyle."

"I would say they're my top five because I feel like the majority of them paved the way for newer generations of rap." Flo Milli said. "I have mad respect for them, and I like their style and the things that they brung to rap. So, those would be my fave."
