Where is Teezo Touchdown from?
Many of the biggest artists in history were born and raised in Texas. Teezo, who hails from Beaumont, is next up.
The rapper said that no matter how famous he gets, he will never forget where he came from.
"You could be a Z-list celebrity, but when you pass through Beaumont, we treat you like, ‘Ah, a celebrity.' Now I’m the celebrity that passes through," he told Complex.
The rapper added: "Whenever I mention Beaumont, I start talking more country. Or I talk about the niche things from my city, just to really wave a flag, like yo, someone from here is doing it."
Needless to say, You can take the person out of Texas, but you can never take the Texas out of the person.
So, boom. Here's why Teezo Touchdown has nails in his head.
Teezo is one rising star that's hard to overlook — especially since his hair is twisted with what looks to be several dozens of metal nails. He's rocked this look for years.
The music artist previously stated that the bold fashion statement is what sets him apart from the rest. In fact, his hair may have just been his ticket to stardom.
"I was looking around my childhood home and there were a lot of nails lying around because my dad’s a handyman. And then I had the idea to put the nails on the brim of my hats and on my boots. I probably had about 10 nails in my hair for that. And from there, it just kept getting heavier and heavier," Teezo explained to Vogue.
Meet Teezo's alter ego, Eugenius Hanes.
A lot of music artists in this day and age have alter-egos that they use from time to time. Beyonce has Sasha Fierce, Donald Glover has Childish Gambino, the list goes on and on.
Teezo has one too — he goes by the name of Eugenius Hanes. This side of him has played a huge part of his career thus far.
"Eugenius is Teezo from the perspective of the outside looking in," he said in an interview with Dazed. "So I think it’s just all perspectives. It’s another way to communicate, you know?"
"When I do interviews I normally go to Eugenius because it’s cooler to hear him talk about me than me sit here and talk about myself," he went on.
Teezo's career is reaching major milestones and he's only just getting started!
