The Breakdown: Young Buck rose to fame as a member of G-Unit, leading to a hefty net worth. However, a series of blunders has left him struggling.

During the late 2000s, Young Buck was at the top of his game, and his net worth was stacked. Buck began rapping at the age of 12 and was recording in studios by 14. His skills caught the attention of Brian "Baby" Williams of Cash Money Records, leading to a signing at just 16 years old. Despite the opportunity, his time at Cash Money didn't yield significant releases, prompting a move to Juvenile's UTP Records in 2000.

Buck later signed to 50 Cent's G-Unit Records, and things took off. He featured on 50 Cent's 2003 debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin', and G-Unit's Beg for Mercy the same year. Buck’s 2004 major label debut, Straight Outta Cashville, went platinum, and his 2007 follow-up, Buck the World, also reached the Top 5 of Billboard’s 200 chart.

In 2008, internal conflicts led to Buck's departure from G-Unit. He remained under contract with the label for some time but faced roadblocks when trying to release new music. Since then, the rapper’s life has been full of setbacks — many of which have taken a toll on his net worth. Here's a look at Buck’s financial status.

Young Buck’s net worth looks different these days.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Buck has a $100,000 net worth. Legal issues and financial missteps have seemingly taken their toll on the rapper. Buck's post-G-Unit years were marred by legal issues. In 2010, the IRS raided his Nashville home over unpaid taxes, TMZ reports. Buck owed more than $300,000 to the IRS and blamed his team for mishandling his finances.

“This IRS situation came about because I trusted accountants, lawyers, and managers to handle my business for me while I focused on making music,” Buck said. “From now on, I am going to stay on top of my own business.”

Buck also owed 50 Cent more than $250,000, a debt he ultimately couldn’t repay. In 2020, the rapper filed for bankruptcy. To clear his debts, Buck sold off his jewelry, cars, and his music catalog. According to All Hip Hop, the filing was also a strategic move to break free from his contract with G-Unit Records after his relationship with 50 Cent deteriorated.
