The tension between two of hip-hop’s biggest moguls, 50 Cent and Diddy, has been simmering for years. Their beef has been marked by public jabs, social media exchanges, and behind-the-scenes rivalries that seem never-ending.

Their feud, stretching over a decade, has evolved from simple competition to a clash of personalities and even personal insults.

The drama between the two has largely played out on social media, with 50 often using Instagram as his platform of choice to hurl insults. In 2018, during an appearance on The Breakfast Club, “Magic Stick” rapper took the beef to a personal level, implying Diddy had an ulterior motive for wanting to meet up with him.

He implied that Diddy’s behavior toward him was questionable, adding fuel to the feud.

Diddy’s 2024 arrest for sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution have reignited interests in his beef with 50 – as the Power producer has doubled down on his dismay for the mogul. Here’s a look at the on-going dispute between the two.

50 Cent and Diddy’s beef has been going on for decades.

The root cause of 50 Cent and Diddy's feud remains unclear, but it traces back to 2006 when 50 Cent released the song “The Bomb” and took a direct shot at the Bad Boy Founder.

In the lyrics, 50 suggested Diddy had knowledge about the 1997 murder of Biggie Smalls, rapping, "Puffy know who hit that n***a." Diddy didn’t respond to the accusation, but it marked a key moment in their growing tension and rivalry, officially sparking the long-standing beef between the two.

Things started to get personal when their paths crossed in the business world, particularly in the lucrative liquor market. 50 launched his Effen Vodka brand around 2015. This put him in direct competition with Diddy's wildly successful Cîroc vodka.

50 didn’t hold back from the beginning—he publicly mocked Cîroc and Diddy’s promotional tactics.

50’s trolling has never ended, and the rapper wasted no time dragging Diddy after Cassie filed a lawsuit against the mogul in November 2023. The singer, who dated Diddy for nearly a decade, claimed that she was sexually and physically abused by Diddy during their relationship.

Amid the fallout, 50 took a few more jabs at Diddy, even offering to buy his share of REVOLT after Diddy stepped down from the company.

50 Cent trolled Diddy following his indictment.

On September 16, Diddy was arrested in New York City and hit with a litany of charges including federal sex trafficking and racketeering, CBS News reports. Details of his alleged crimes were further outlined in a 14-page indictment.

The documents state that Diddy would orchestrate sex parties, dubbed “Freak Offs,” involving sex workers and his romantic partners.

The documents further revealed that authorities discovered more than 1,000 bottles of lube and baby oil in the mogul’s possession. Seizing the moment, 50 Cent mocked Diddy’s situation on social media, posting a picture with Drew Barrymore and humorously adding that he doesn’t have "1,000 bottles of lube at the house."
