When it comes to women in hip-hop, society tends to compare the stars to each other — this is especially true when it comes to Cardi B and newcomer Ice Spice.
Firstly, they are both native to the Bronx and overnight sensations — not to mention that Ice and Cardi have sparked rumors of being industry plants and using payola as a means to their success.
Whether they share similar styles, flows, or looks is often debated. As a result of this, there has been a lot of speculation about whether Cardi B and Ice Spice are related by blood. So, what's the truth? Read on to find out!

Cardi B and Ice Spice have striking similarities. Are they related?
Both Cardi B and Ice Spice are of Dominican Heritage. Their careers are so similar that they have been accused of being related.
Though these two superstars are both from the Bronx, N.Y., and share Dominican heritage, they are not sisters, cousins, or kinfolk.
They may not related to each other, but they both come from big families. In fact, both ladies have siblings who also live their lives in the limelight. Here's what we know about them!
Who are Ice Spice’s siblings?
Ice Spice has five younger siblings making her the youngest child. Her 16-year-old brother Joey Gatson is a local legend himself.
He is a popular junior quarterback at Iona Prep in New Rochelle, N.Y., and has recently been signed to Next Models.
When asked by GQ Sports if he enjoys being known as Ice Spice’s little brother he said: “I don’t mind, but everyone still knows me as Joey Gaston."
He added: "At school and all of that, I made my own name. They know me as the quarterback. I don’t go around the halls with people being like, 'What’s good Ice Spice’s little brother!' They always call me Joey.”
Obviously, Joey is determined to make a name for himself outside his sister's fame. Little is known about her four other sisters and brothers, though.
Who are Cardi B’s siblings?
Cardi B has one full sibling, Hennessy Carolina, along with two half-sisters — Maciel Almanzar and Nicauly Villalona —and five half-brothers from her father’s previous marriage.
We do know that one of her half-brothers is named Fernando Almanzar but the rest of Cardi B's half-siblings seem to stay out of the spotlight.

Hennesy Carolina is Cardi B’s younger sister who is an influencer and star in her own right. She rose to fame alongside her sister on Love And Hip Hop: New York.
She is a doting aunt to Cardi B’s children who studies fashion design and also has her own clothing line.
Even though the siblings give each other space to shine, Cardi B is still very protective of her younger sister. She explains to Fuse: "We are very protective of each other."
"When people talk about me it’s like okay, I get mad. But when people talk about my sister I literally lose my mind, and that's the same way with her," the rapper added.
