When it comes to relationships between siblings, sisters have a special type of bond. For many people, having a sister means having a built-in best friend. Female rappers and their sisters are no different. And having a close family member to help them on their Hollywood journey can make them even closer.
Female rappers and their sisters
From Da Brat to Cardi B, female rappers and their sisters have a bond unlike any other. Not only are they friends, but they can sometimes act as confidante, business partners, and inspiration for each other's artistry. To learn more about your favorite musical artists, here are five female rappers and their sisters:
Cardi B
Cardi B is one of the most popular rappers in the industry. Her debut studio album Invasion of Privacy shot up the charts, ranking at number 1 on Billboard 200. But even though the outspoken rapper makes hot music, her fans truly adore her for her personality.
She began her rise to fame on social media platforms Vine and Instagram, moving on to Love & Hip Hop: New York, where she was a regular castmate. Her following grew, loving every minute of her hot takes and funloving attitude.
But her flair for the dramatic certainly runs in the family as her sister Hennessy Carolina is just as bold.
Hennessy Carolina is a model and social media personality who also does well in the spotlight. She and her big sister Cardi first appeared together on Love & Hip Hop: New York, but you can also find them showing up and showing out on their social media pages and at red carpet events.
Latto
Latto is an American rapper best known for her Southern swag and bold lyrics. She started her career after winning the first season of the reality TV series The Rap Game back in 2019. Later, she released her single "Big Energy," which ranked at number three on Billboard 100.
Her sister, Brooklyn Nikole, has been a big support to her throughout her career, accompanying her to red carpet events, game shows, and even appearing on her radio show "777 Radio."
Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj is a superstar rapper and self-proclaimed Barbie. Known for her bold and provocative lyrics, the "Super Freaky Girl" quickly scaled the rap game, proving her talent in an industry where men dominate.
But even though Minaj has become a household name, her family has kept a relatively low profile. This includes her little sister Ming Maraj, whom fans called her "twin" after Nicki posted her on the 'gram.
Da Brat
Da Brat is an American rapper and actress. After she signed with So So Def Records, she released her debut album entitled Funkdafied, which sold one million copies. This achievement earned her the title of the first female solo rap act to receive a platinum certification.
But Da Brat isn't the only talented one in the family. Her older sister, LisaRaye McCoy, is also a talented actress, having acted in many films and TV shows including "The Players Club," "Beauty Shop," and "All of Us."
The two have had their fair share of ups and downs but have recently made amends, appearing on "Cocktails with Queens" together.
Saweetie
Saweetie is a popular rapper from the Bay Area, whos hit single "My Type," peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100. Beyond rapping, the "Icy Girl" is known for her beauty, and has been linked to a number of major celebs including rappers Quavo and Lil' Baby.
Saweetie is also celebrated for her down-to-earth personality, with her crazy food combinations going wild on social media. Part of the reason for her around-the-way attitude is her family. Saweetie is lucky to have not one, but two sisters — twins Mya and Milan Harper. The trio share an incredible bond, having been spotted together on social media.
