
MADE x PayPal Celebrated Day Two of its Two-Day Cultural Event

MADE x PayPal highlighted small businesses, emerging NY-based designers in the MADE Class of 2022 Runway Show

Curated by Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School, MADE x PayPal’s Saturday event was attended by Julia Fox, Amy Schumer and IMG Models client, Marc Sebastian.
IMG Models client, Elsa Majimbo served as the official MADE x PayPal correspondent taking over the MADE social media channels, allowing virtual viewers to experience MADE firsthand.

Doors officially opened to the MADE Marketplace at St. Ann’s Warehouse where guests discovered and shopped from a variety of retail brands including: Bronx Native, CISE, Depop, Fantasy Explosion, K.NGSLEY, Mia Vesper, Motherland Plug, Scorpion Records, Stadium Goods, Studio 189 and Whensmokeclears.
Brands Bed on Water, EDAS, FUBU and Sincerely Tommy also had exclusive drops. Additionally, guests were able to shop the exclusive Public School x MADE merchandise at MADE Marketplace with all proceeds donated to Young New Yorkers.
WNL (We Need Leaders) Radio, Chow and Osborne curated a day of music and discussion that was also accessible via live stream to remote consumers. The MADE x PayPal experience included live DJ sets by Arthur Baker, Amrit, Heron Preston and Mona Matsuoka, as well as panel discussions with Chioma Nnadi, Rajni Jacques and Michelle Ochs.

The MADE Class of 2022 Fashion Show debuted collections from K.NGSLEY, Whensmokeclears and Bed On Water. Chow and Osborne worked closely with IMG and PayPal to select the three designers and provide guidance to these emerging brands through the MADE mentorship program. IMG Models client, Parris Goebel, choreographed and performed the opening dance number for the Saturday night show. Puma highlighted a new footwear silhouette, ‘Slipstream’, by providing footwear for designers as well as the models walking for Whensmokeclears.
The night concluded with a special screening of Questlove’s Oscar-winning documentary film, Summer of Soul, at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
